Motto of the School: Education for Peace, Progress & Prosperity. The Capuchin Friars who are the followers of St. Francis of Assisi, who was born in Italy in the year 1181 and dedicated his entire life living and propagating the Universal Brotherhood, have drawn inspiration from their founder to live and work for the same brotherhood and to become instruments of Peace. Hence the motto of our school is “Education for Peace, Progress & Prosperity”.

School Annual Day
The school Annual Day of Infant Jesus School at Chikmagalur was
celebrated with pomp and gaiety on the 4th of February, 2012 at 3.30
p.m. The newly set band of tiny tots was on the beat at exactly 3.30
p.m. near the main gate of the school. They welcomed the
dignitaries:- the president of the function, Mr. S G Nagesh (Block
Education Officer, Chikmagalur), the chief guests:- 1) Rev. Fr.
Agnel Fernandes, the headmaster of St. Joseph’s Boys’ High School,
Chikmagalur, 2) Rev. Fr. Chetan Leo Lobo, OFM Cap. the secretary –
Karnataka Capuchin Education Board, Bangalore, the guests of honour:-
1) Mrs. Nagarathnamma, president – Mugthihalli Gram Panchayat, 2)
Mr. S T Chandre Gowda, President Kishan Cell, the principal Bro.
Victor Crasta, OFM Cap., the PTA president – Mr. Amar D’Souza, the
staff, students and all the audience.

Republic Day :
Republic Day was celebrated at Infant Jesus School, Chikmagalur on
26th January, 2012 for the first time. At 8.30 a.m. the newly
purchased school band was in action to welcome the chief guest Fr.
Paul Melwyn D’Souza, OFM Cap. (en route Switzerland for Doctoral
Research). He hoisted the national flag amidst all the students and
parents gathered. In his speech he highlighted the qualities of a
students and expressed great satisfaction about the discipline and
first of all the school band performance within 20 days of practice.
Bro. Victor Crasta, the principal in his speech said that the Tri-colour
of the national flag represents 3 religions:- saffron for Hindus,
white for Christians and Green for Muslims and in the centre the
wheel to unite all the 3 religions and keep us moving and united.
Sweets were distributed to all gathered and students danced to the
tune to Vande Mataram and other patriotic songs.
