Independence Day Celebration
at Infant Jesus School, Chikmagalur


August 15 was a great day for the students, the staff and the parents as they celebrated the 64th Independence Day in the new premises of the school for the first time. Mr. Felix Sequeira, the manager of Kelagur Tea Company hoisted the flag amidst 352 students, 18 staff and more than 500 parents and well-wishers of the school. Mr. Chandre Gowda, the president of Mugthihalli grama panchayat gave a befitting message on the independence day. He also promised to provide 1000 silver plants to the school and urged the school authorities to make the school premises clean and green.

Bro. Victor Crasta, the principal explained to the lot "what is the real freedom and how we can achieve it". "Living according to the rules of the society is the true freedom" he opined. The school children entertained the gathering with colourful dances and skits. School teacher Namitha Maria D'Souza, welcomed the gathering, Pramila T proposed the vote of thanks and Mrs. Padmavathi, another teacher compered the programme. Kit - Kats sponsored by Mr. Felix, were distributed to every one gathered.
